Do your kids get excited when new movies are released? My kids aren’t quite old enough to know such things, but I have to say that I actually get excited because it means something new for them (and lets be honest, me) to watch during the day. I think its clear from the Minnie Mouse post that I’m a huge fan of all things Disney, so we knew we would buy the Sleeping Beauty DVD as soon as it came out to add to our awesome Disney movie collection. I made watching it a special occasion and we had a little princess party with a few of our friends. June thought it was all very fun. I had everyone come in princess dresses and then gave each princess a little set that came with a crown, necklace and earrings. The girls loved it and looks so adorable in all their princess gear! We headed out to Walmart to purchase the diamond edition of Sleeping Beauty and also do some damage in the princess aisle. Like I mentioned I purchased the little tiara sets for each girl (only $5!, a great value), a princess dress for miss June and I couldn’t help but also purchase the above pictured Sleeping beauty characters set. The princess aisle totally reminds me of being a little girl and wanting everything!

The girls totally loved their tiara sets, I love that they came with earrings, a necklace and the crown- so cute! To keep them occupied during the movie, because sometimes we know our littles don’t stay mesmerized the entire time, I printed off Sleeping Beauty coloring sheets from THIS website.

What movie watching experience is complete without popcorn? I made a special treat for these adorable princesses to enjoy.

This popcorn is so easy to make, its kind of like making caramel corn. If you need something fast that your kids will think is extra special this popcorn will come to the rescue. It could easily be for any holiday or made special for any theme- just change out the color of candy melts and the type of sprinkles and bam you’ve got a million different combos that will be awesome. Pink and pretty little pastel flowers just happen to be perfect for princess parties. 🙂

Princess Popcorn

Ingredients

1 bag microwave popcorn
1/2-1 cup pink candy melts
Assorted pink sprinkles

Instructions

Pop your popcorn according to package instructions. On a silpat lined baking sheet (Read all about why I love my Silpat HERE) lay out the popcorn in a single layer. Melt the candy melts in the microwave according to package instructions. Once melted and smooth put the melted candy into a ziplock bag and trim an end off with scissors. Use that end to squeeze out the candy melts over the popcorn. Add sprinkles on top of that. Take a spatula and mix the popcorn and melted candy all together, softly folding everything together. Let cool and then serve.

I Love it when I catch my kids being sweet to each other, its not near as often as I would like, so when it happens I record it! 🙂
