My friends have a way of cheering me up no matter how stressed I am. Some of my favorite evenings are girls nights out and I depend on my Kansas City friends for more than just now and then conversations. They help me parent they help me have fun. Basically I love my friends and I think they deserve to know it every once in a while. I love to bake (incase you haven’t already figured that out) and make treats for others to enjoy. I also love to laugh. The new buzz-worthy cards by connections by Hallmark have some really funny not for any specific occasion cards that I think are perfect to just drop off to a friend to give them a pick me up on any old random wednesday. Obviously I’m not going to drop off a card without something to go with it and these rice krispie treats are a new very sinful creation. I’m not a huge fan of rice krispie treats but add some chocolate, caramel and pretzels and I’m in. Don’t ask me how many I’ve had today, I def. won’t tell you the truth ;).
I purchased the funny cards below at walmart for only $1.97 each and I love their quirky humor. Another fun aspect to these cards is that in order to keep them fresh and relevant, they’ll be rotated out with all new cards every few weeks! So get your favorites now and check back every trip to Walmart to pick the newest laugh!
Did you know that Hallmark has a rewards program where you are rewarded for every 5 cards you purchase, check it out HERE. I try to send out birthday cards to family members (I’ve been failing lately) and I normally keep a stack of birthday cards in my kitchen, there are some funny birthday cards in this collection as well that I need to snag before they are gone!
I totally agree, I love studies that say we can eat more butter and cheese! 🙂 Speaking of butter these rice krispie treats will totally have your friends calling you for the recipe. promise. chocolate, caramel, pretzels, marshmallows, rice krispies, yes, yes and yes!
These treats can be made in any flat casserole dish like normal, but why make normal bars when you have a demarle charlotte mold? I mean how easy is making rice krispie treats in a demarle mold?! After its done cooling in the fridge you can see in the photos below how perfectly it just pops out.
I mean look at that beauty. perfection is easier than you think friends!

If you are using a Demarle mold you can make it exactly as these instructions say or if you are not make the rice krispie treats first and put them in your dish and then put the other ingredients on top (so backwards of these instructions).
First melt your chocolate in the microwave in 30 second increments to get it nice and smooth and melted. Dollop about a tablespoon into the wells of your mod and spread around with a spatula. Sprinkle crushed up pretzel on top of the melted chocolate and then caramel sauce on top of the pretzels.
Make your rice krispie treats by 1st melting the butter in the microwave in a large Demarle round mold for about 30 seconds, then place your marshmallows in the mold with the butter and mix to coat the marshmallows with butter. Microwave the marshmallows for 2 minutes, they will poof up quite a bit. Take them out and mix in your rice krispie cereal until its fully combined.
Spoon the rice krispies/marshmallow mixture into the wells of your mold while they are still warm and push down firmly.
Put them in the fridge until completely cool, about an hour. When you remove them just gently push from the bottom of the mold and they will come out perfectly!
