After Dinner Mint Hot Chocolate with AE Dairy

Its officially the Christmas season and I couldn’t be happier! Yesterday (the day after Thanksgiving) we put up all the Christmas decorations, including the tree and then we went down to union station where we watched Elf on the biggest screen in Kansas City. My kids loved it, almost as much as me. 🙂 This time of year is one of my favorites, the fact that it was freezing rain didn’t even damper my spirits, it just made me want to curl up with a cup of hot chocolate and listen to Christmas music! Today I’m sharing my version of Angelina’s hot chocolate (The best hot chocolate in all of Paris), a mint version made with AE After Dinner Mint Chocolate Milk. This delicious drink is perfect to satisfy your sweet tooth and warm you up this winter.

I have to say out of all the delicious holiday drinks that AE has on the shelf this season the After Dinner Mint Chocolate Milk is my favorite, its literally the perfect ratio of chocolate to mint and after enjoying it warm I don’t think I’ll ever want plain hot chocolate again!

After Dinner Mint Hot Chocolate

Ingredients (4 small mugs)

1/2 cup chocolate chips (milk or dark- your choice)
2 Tablespoons water
1 1/2 cups AE After Dinner Mint Chocolate Milk
Top with Whipped Cream, fresh made with AE Heavy Whipping Cream & sprinkle with chocolate mint baking chips

Instructions

In a small heavy bottom saucepan or a double boiler melt the chocolate chips and water over medium-low heat. Make sure you don’t burn the chocolate. Stir continually as the chocolate melts.
Once the chocolate has melted slowly whisk in the After Dinner Mint Chocolate Milk. Whisk until the melted chocolate is fully incorporated and the entire thing is heated to your liking. I did not bring it to a simmer or boil, just heated to nice and warm.
This recipe can easily be doubled to make for more people, this will make enough for 4 small mugs.

I also sprinkled a few chocolate mint baking chips on the top for good measure, you could use plain chocolate sprinkles as well. 🙂
