Over the last month i’ve been helping a friend make this baptism dress for her daughter. I just love how it turned out. Jana had the fabric from her mom, a white cotton eyelet lace that had a beautiful scalloped edge. We used a pattern but adjusted the neckline and sleeve length and made the sash wider. I had some vintage lace lying around (you know in the bins and bins of fabric in the craft closet) that we added to the bodice, neckline and sleeve. Gaby looked so beautiful in her dress and i had such a great time making it with my friend.
I love that she has this special dress that was made just for her and and can keep for her daughter. Such a special day deserves a special dress. We belong to the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and in our church your baptism happens at the age of 8.
