It’s hot outside, the corn fields are starting to get tall and you can find us at the pool pretty much everyday. Yep, summer is here and the 4th of July is right around the corner. I find that I often have people visit us for the 4th of July and I love coming up with fun food to celebrate. These fruit, granola and ice cream parfaits are the perfect way to celebrate the holiday and I’ve got some free printables to go with!
Here in Kansas City Sprouts Farmers Markets having been popping up all over the place, Sprouts is a neighborhood grocery store that has the feel of a farmers market and health food store in one. They have a fantastic bulk bins section with nuts, seeds, granola, and treats. I was super Impressed with the granola selection! Have you ever put granola on your ice cream? Two words- do. it.
To make these fun parfaits I picked up the Sprouts organic gelato- the packaging totally sold me, so cute! I was so pleasantly surprised to open them up and find this beautiful swirl, I mean, right?! I’m totally in love with the creaminess of these, so good.
I’m such a sucker for ice cream and I’ve recently gone gluten free so it’s really the only dessert I can have, you best believe I’ve been eating it almost every night. 😉 Add some fruit on top makes me feel a little better about the situation! ha!
I picked three granola’s from the Sprouts bulk bins, but easily could have chosen a few more. My favorite for an ice cream parfait is the chocolate hazelnut, duh. 🙂 Chopping up strawberries and blueberries makes it “healthy” ice cream, right?! and of course it adds our red and blue that we need to celebrate the 4th of July!
To display the granola I put them in quart mason jars and added these super cute printable labels. I like to print out labels like this on card stock and I just use my normal home ink jet color printer. Super easy and yet so cute for display! All three of these granolas are available at Sprouts.
