The Canon Pixma MG7720 is a great and affordable home printing option with lots of features that make printing at home easy! This post contains affiliate links which means if you purchase something I recommend I make a small percentage of the sale, this helps keep the blog content free to you! Also I would never recommend anything I didn’t truly love.
I was recently gifted this awesome Canon Pixma MG7720 printer and I’ve been so impressed with it that I thought I would do a full review. I’m not one to be over enthused about electronics and honestly printers usually end up driving me crazy for one reason or another! This Canon printer has been a breeze to use and I’ll tell you all about why.
Lets start with the aesthetic of it. I’m kind of in love with the shiny white exterior. It’s so modern and pretty that I don’t mind leaving it out on the end of my desk area. It also comes in black, gold and red, the gold and red look a little crazy but hey if that’s your style go for it!
I have to say I was super skeptical of printing wirelessly. My previous printer said that it was capable of wireless printing but every time I tried it took like 5 million years for it to actually print. I pretty much expected to use a printer cable with this printer as well. I’ve just been under the impression that you can’t really print large files without being connected through a cable.
GUYS. I was SO impressed with this printer’s wireless capability. I’ve printed photos, documents strait from Adobe illustrator as well as pdf’s and word docs and they all print almost immediately through the wireless connection. It also has the capability to print wirelessly from your phone or tablet, I have not tried this yet but I’ve read reviews that says it’s awesome!
I’m not the tech person in my house by any stretch of the imagination. When anything arrives that needs to be set up in anyway I ask my husband to do it for me. Technology usually leaves me frustrated. Well the day that I needed to start printing Matt wasn’t here and I had to do it on my own. Again another pleasant surprise with the Canon Pixma 7720- it was super easy to setup and start printing.
All I did was follow the instructions in the easy start guide that came with the printer and I was done just shy of 30 minutes. Seriously guys that might be a record for me! So I love that it was easy to set up and that the wireless connection works! I should note that I use a Macbook Pro, I cannot attest to the ease of setup on a PC but from other reviews I can imagine it’s just as easy.
The Pixma 7720 has 2 “cassettes” for paper, the bottom one is for 8.5 x 11 and the top tray is adjustable for papers of different sizes. I decided to experiment with the Canon Photo Paper and loved the results! I created an entire photo display for my brother’s rustic wedding reception and I printed out all the photos with this printer! Honestly the photos look just as good as one of those printers at Target.
The quality of printing is excellent, and I’m a pretty tough critic when it comes to print quality. I love the fact that this printer has different black ink cartridges for printing photos and printing word processing.
I love that I can print out photos on my home printer and I don’t have to run down to the store to do it. I also love that I can print out fun “printables” for gift tags, home decor prints or gifts and do it on this home printer. I’ve used regular paper and card stock and all the prints have looked exceptional.
I’ve also used the scanner feature with no problems and great quality scans, wirelessly to my computer. This printer is also very quiet- much less noise than other printers I have owned. It has not jammed when I’ve used card stock (that’s always a frightening moment when you try printing on card stock for the first time!) and it prints rather quickly!
I’m 100% recommending the Canon Pixma MG7720 printer for home use, I think I might actually use my printer more than the average person uses a home printer and this one is awesome. I love the print quality and easy of printing wirelessly and I really love the look of it, its so pretty!
