How stinkin’ cute are these zombie Halloween Snack Pack pudding cups?! I’m totally in love with them. As I was going through all the different halloween type characters in my mind trying to think of something I could make that I haven’t already done or seen done a million times I stopped at zombie. yes! zombies! Zombies coming out of the ground looking green and cute yet scary at the same time. I love how they turned out and I love how easy they are to make. Your kids will totally think your awesome or maybe you can take them to share at your watch party for the walking dead. Regardless they are are a great Halloween treat and who doesn’t love a chocolate Snack Pack pudding cup?!
Snack Packs totally take me back to somewhere in middle school, I guess I must have eaten them frequently because the smell just makes me feel like a kid. I purchased them at Walmart in the baking aisle to make this fun halloween treat.
All you need are a few ingredients to make these fun zombie cookies. Snack Pack pudding cups, Oreo cookies, green candy melts, 2 types of candy eyes- I found the gummy ones and then just hard candy ones and brown sprinkles.
I’ve made several other candy covered cookies and the key to dipping Oreos is to stick your fork into the cream. Oh and this is also an excellent way to dip Oreos in milk! First melt the candy melts into a bowl in the microwave using the package instructions. Then I like to use a spatula as I dip the Oreo in the melted coating and to help fully cover and then smooth it out. I then immediately place it on my silpat non stick baking liner, or parchment paper, and decorate. (Read all about why I love my Silpat HERE) Once they are cooled you just open up your Snack Pack and stick it on top of the pudding, the perfect “dirt” for your zombie to emerge from.
Do you have any halloween or fall traditions? We have a really fun pumpkin patch that we go to every year, I’m thinking we’ll head over next Wednesday, and we always dress up as a family on Halloween. I love that Halloween is on a Friday this year- I better get started making our costumes- follow me on Instagram- @handmadeintheheartland to see before its up here!
The gummy eyes I also found at Walmart in the seasonal baking section in the middle of the center aisle, I had the other eyes left over from last year but you can get them at most craft stores.
The true test is that of my kids, they are always intrigued when I start making things and of course this treat passed the test.
