Peanut butter spider cookies are the perfect Halloween treat or dessert for parties! My kids think these guys are so fun and they love to help me make them.

This morning I went on a local Kansas City morning show to show viewers some ideas for Halloween parties. It was so fun, Michelle and Michael the hosts were so fun to work with! I am excited to work with them again in the future. I showed pumpkin cheesecake bars, candy corn pretzel bites and my favorite little peanut butter spider cookies! I also showed an easy DIY striped spider runner and printable halloween soda labels.

I love love this recipe for peanut butter cookies. to. die. for. and making these spiders was easy and delivered a cute final product, love that combo, right?!
Halloween treats are some of my favorite to make, everyone gets so festive in October!

- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- candy eyes
- pull & peel twirlers
- rolos
- chocolate icing
For Decorating:
- Preheat the oven to 350. Stir together dry ingredients. In a mixer cream butter, shortening, and peanut butter until smooth. Add the sugars and keep mixing until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, and then vanilla. Add flour in two parts and mix until combined.
- Shape dough into balls and place an inch apart on a silpat lined cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes. When you take them out place a rolo in the center of each cookie. Using chocolate icing as a “glue” place your eyes on the rolo and then 6 pulled apart licorice pieces as the legs.
