Every year i have this goal to send our birthday cards to everyone in our extended family, and i never complete it 100% i feel terrible. Isn’t it the worst to forget someone’s birthday?! If anyone has a great app or reminder system i would love to hear about it. I usually just buy cards but i thought (since my list is over 50 people that i need to send to) it would be fun (and cheaper) to make cards. Also i hoard collect washi tape and its a perfect excuse to break it out. I’m excited to show you all the different little variations of washi tape birthday cards i came up with yesterday afternoon. Now all i need to do is get them in the mail on time!
I used some simple supplies- washi tape, glue stick, twine, spray adhesive, kraft paper blank cards and envelopes (which i got on clearance at Michael’s). The happy birthday die cuts are in different sizes and i used my awesome silhouette cameo to design and cut them out. If you don’t have a cutter i’m sure you could find something similar in the sticker isle at a craft store. I have ordered most of my washi tape on pickyourplum.com, but you can get it now at craft stores.
These didn’t take long at all and i think they turned out so fun. Because the happy birthday cutout was so delicate i used spray adhesive, but that’s not really necessary if your die cut isn’t fragile- glue sticks are normally sufficient.
What do you do with your washi tape? Let me know in the comments!
